Privacy Policy
For griefunbound.com
Grief Unbound offers grief support, groups and guided programs. This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers this website only. It does not cover the support you receive from a practitioner, which is governed by their own confidentiality obligations.
Information you give us
You only give us information if you choose to fill something in. This is exactly what each form on this site asks for:
Consultation form:
- your first and last name
- email address
- phone number
- the general reason you are reaching out if you select one
- your town and state if you enter them
- and anything you choose to write in the message box
Discovery call form:
- your first and last name
- email address
- phone number
- and anything you write in the message box
Call request form:
- your first name
- email address
- phone number
- and how you prefer to be contacted
Guide request form:
- your first name and email address, so the guide can be sent to you
Every form also carries a hidden field used to catch automated spam. It records nothing about you.
These forms exist so you can reach out about grief support, and anything you write in a message box is personal to you. Please share only what you are comfortable sending through a website form. Do not use this website for anything urgent.
What you send through these forms is added to our contact records so we can reply, send anything you asked for, and follow up with you. You can ask us to remove you at any time and we will.
Information collected automatically
This site uses Google tags through Google Tag Manager to count visits and see which pages people read. They set cookies in your browser and record your rough location, your device and browser type, the pages you view and how you arrived. We use this only as statistics. We do not use it to identify you and we do not use it for advertising. You can switch this off at any time, and the site works normally if you do. How to do that is below.
The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them and Google sees your network address when it does.
Like any website, our servers record the ordinary details of each request so the site can run and so we can find and stop abuse. A security and delivery network sits in front of the site and handles the same details in order to serve pages quickly and to filter out attacks and automated traffic.
When a form is sent, we note the network address it came from so that nobody can flood the form with automated submissions.
Content from other companies
Google Maps. A map showing where we are is embedded from Google Maps. Loading the map lets Google see that your browser requested it.
A video player. A video is embedded from a third-party video host, which sees that your browser requested it when the page loads.
Booking and payment
Classes and sessions are booked and paid for on Square's booking pages. When you follow a booking link you leave this website, and anything you enter there, including payment details, is handled by Square under Square's own privacy policy. This website never sees or stores card details.
Why we use it
- To answer you when you get in touch.
- To keep the website working, fast and secure.
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve them.
- To take and confirm payment when you buy something.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Who else sees it
- Google provides the analytics tags described above, and the typefaces the pages use.
- Google Maps serves the embedded content described above.
- A video player serves the embedded content described above.
- Square handles booking and payment, as described above.
- We also rely on a small number of service providers to run the site: a company that hosts this website, a security and delivery network that sits in front of it, a company that delivers the email a form submission generates, and a company that holds our contact records. They only ever receive what they need to do that job and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send us for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry and for as long afterwards as we need it as an ordinary business record, or as tax and accounting law requires. When it is no longer needed for either, it is deleted.
If you ask to be removed from our contact records, we act on that when you ask.
Request records kept by the server and by the security network are held only as long as they are useful for running the site and investigating abuse, and are then discarded. Analytics data is held under the retention setting configured in the analytics product and is then deleted automatically.
Your choices
- Ask what we hold. Get in touch and we will tell you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it. Get in touch and we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Ask us to stop contacting you. Say so and we will take you off our contact records.
- Turn off analytics. Install Google's official opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally either way.
If you live in California, another US state with a privacy law, the EEA or the UK, you have specific rights over your personal information, which include getting a copy of it, having it corrected, having it deleted and, in some cases, having it moved. Ask us and we will act on your request. We will never charge you or treat you differently for exercising a right.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The whole site is served over an encrypted connection. What you send through a form travels encrypted and goes to the person who answers enquiries. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to the minimum that lets us do our job, which is the most effective protection there is.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, we will update this page.
How to reach us
For anything in this policy, including a request to see or delete what we hold, reach Grief Unbound through the contact form on this site.
